Logan (Wolverine)
Wolverine (Logan) sits by the old gum tree, eating all the gumdrops he can see -
Laugh Wolverine (Logan), laugh, Wolverine (Logan), laugh -
Gay your life must be...

the meta in that or the irony is just too funny

Logan isn't actually sitting in a gum tree eating gumdrops; he's actually performing a series of katas, wearing only a pair of black martial arts pants. No, really - that's all he's wearing.

Logan appears to have been conned into taking a shopping trip. This involves Logan driving his Jeep, Holly in the passenger seat, to the tune of Holly's directions - 'turn here, now here, go that way...'. He's following pretty well.

She tells him to stop and he gives the storefront a Look.

"What're we doin' here, kid?"

When Nicole comes upstairs and to her room, she'll find it softly lit with more than enough candles. There's even a path lined with tea lights from the door to the table that's been set. Logan had a LOT of help. Holly helped cook the dinner - steak, vegetables and a souffle for dessert; Dawn and Bee helped set up the candles - which explains why there are candles all around the bathtub, which is filled with very very hot water that will cool to tolerable while they eat and has red rose petals floating in it; Logan actually did a fair amount of the cooking and grumbled a lot when the girls wanted him to wear a tie. (Which he's still not wearing, by the way.) They managed to get him out of the jeans and T-shirt and into something a bit more befitting and while he feels utterly ridiculous, he thinks Nicole will like it. And it is, after all, sleek and black and well-tailored.

One of Stan's suggestions is on the nightstand - chocolate syrup. Logan doesn't like whipped cream.

And someone he's not sure he knows, offered the music selection. Logan's not sure what that is either, but it's soft and pretty and not too loud and just 'enhancing the ambience of the room' - did that guy say his name was Jack?

After he shoved all the extra, unneeded people out of the room - the three girls giggling like 12-year-olds - he took his position next to the table, leaning on the back of one of the chairs, waiting for Nicole.

Logan is sitting on a couch by the fire. It's a new location. He's usually at the bar, but he rather likes this couch. He has beer and, for some reason, a plate of cookies. No cigar.

Logan's still asleep and still isn't fully aware that there's a body pressed against his back. He doesn't sleep often, but when he gets the chance, he sleeps pretty deep - especially after mind-blowing sex. Not that he's all too familiar, of late, with either.

They're watching... they're always watching. They see everything you do. They know. They know...

The voice in the back of his head, trying to convince him this is not the best idea, but what choice does he have? Escape now or stay in the Alkalai Lake facility until...

When they decide that he's outlived his usefullness? When they realize he's a danger? When they realize they can no longer control him? All of which lead to one very final conclusion - his death.

He doesn't want to die.

But they can see you. They know what you're doing. You'll never make it. You tried before, remember?

He does remember... he remembers trying to escape, feral and crazy; in excruciating pain, covered in blood... then he woke up in a stark white room, strapped to a cold metal table, bright lights in his eyes.

A cold shiver rolls down his spine as he presses himself against a wall to peer around a corner. The corridor is empty but for the cameras. He takes a moment to breathe, then rounds the corner and runs down the corridor. Halfway, he meets one of Strykers 'pets' - a three-foot bipedal creature with sharp claws and teeth - both made of the same Adamantium that his own claws are constructed from - he tries to fight, but his claws remain sheathed and he can't make them extend.

The creature slashes and bites at his legs as he tries to get away. Running down the corridor, away from the creature, he rounds a corner and knocks over a lab tech. Fortunately for him - not so for the lab tech - the creature changes focus and shreds the lab tech instead.

Wolverine ignores the soon-to-be ex-lab tech and charges for the next corridor on his escape route.

Bleeding, tired, aching, scared, he runs for the door at the end of the corridor. He's forgotten the cameras; he's forgotten the little beasties; he's forgotten everything but freedom...
